SKX007 & SRPD Sapphire Crystals for Seiko Mod Builds
Every crystal here is made for the Seiko SKX007 and SRPD in sapphire, flat or double dome. Sapphire is extremely hard, so it resists scratching. What sets these crystals apart is the insert each one is cut to sit against, so start with the insert on your build.
Choose by Insert
- For a flat insert: a 3.0mm flat crystal, a 5mm double dome, and the Type 2 double dome, made for ceramic and aluminum inserts with a smaller inner diameter. For a slim bezel, there's a 4.0mm double dome made for it, and a 2.9mm flat crystal that also fits the original Seiko aluminum insert.
- For a slope insert: a flat crystal with or without a magnifying lens, and double domes 4.8mm and 5.1mm tall. Each sits against the slope insert with no gap.
- Flat or slope: flat crystals 4.1mm and 4.5mm tall, for flat and slope ceramic inserts of at least 31.6mm inner diameter, and a double dome with a beveled edge that sits slightly above the insert, 5.1mm tall in blue AR and 4.7mm in clear AR.
Coatings, Date Lens & NH34
Clear AR keeps your dial's natural colour, while blue AR can change the overall look, and some double domes also come in red. Some flat crystals come with or without a lens over the date. If you're building around an NH34 movement, the 4.1mm flat crystal has the clearance for it, and the 5mm double dome for a flat insert and the 5.1mm double dome for a slope insert work with it too.
Gaskets & Other Watches

Frequently Asked Questions
Which watches do these crystals fit?
Every crystal here is made for the Seiko SKX007 and SRPD. Some also fit the SKX009, and most of those the SKX011 and SKX399 (0200 case). The beveled double dome and the 2.9mm flat crystal also fit the Seiko 5 GMT SSK001, SSK003 and SSK005, and the beveled double dome fits later SSK models too.
Do I need a crystal for a flat or a slope insert?
Match the crystal to your insert. The 4.1mm and 4.5mm flat crystals and the beveled double dome take either, and the beveled double dome sits lower against a slope insert. With a slope insert, the Type 2 double dome leaves a gap between the crystal and the insert.
Will any of them fit my original Seiko aluminum insert?
The 2.9mm flat crystal fits the original Seiko aluminum insert, and the Type 2 double dome is made for ceramic and aluminum inserts with a smaller inner diameter. The 4.0mm double dome for slim bezels and the 5.1mm double dome for slope inserts won't fit the original SKX007 aluminum insert.
