Brushing lays a fine directional grain across the top of the rotating bezel, and on a notched profile that counts for more than it would on a smooth one — the cut-outs stop sparkling and start reading as shape. This is the only brushed finish in the LX family, which makes it the one to reach for when the case beside it is brushed too and a mirror rotating bezel would be the odd element on a Seiko mod that is otherwise all one texture. The rotating bezel gasket comes seated, so the swap stops at the rotating bezel and the insert.
